If people go straight to heaven or hell when they die, then explain these bible verses...?

Your uming that "going to be with God" correlates to going to God in heaven... that is where you are wrong. Going with God means going back to the one who created you and it is THEN your eternity will be decided in the twinkiling of an eye.
