Why do people deny the significance of 1914?

Whenever I read people quoting the Book of Revelation, I slap my forehead, and think "here we go again." The Book of Revelation is poetic and ambiguous -- filled with symbols which may mean very different things to us than they did to the original writer. It's something like a dream -- the words and symbols can mean different thing to different people. So whatever you're trying to prove -- baloney.
