Potential cure for cancer?

Aspirin only helps minimally due to its anti-inflammatory effects, but I've heard that stem cells have huge potential for treating or even curing some cancers. I had a friend working on a cure for cancer using stem cells at a Johns Hopkins lab, but he was killed in a mugging last year. The research is still going strong though, so sometime in the future we should see much better treatments. I don't know much else on the topic, but I know that it's being worked on and has really good potential.
