Appendectomy - Post surgery recovery?

My ex had to have emergency surgery to remove her appendix. She was sore for a few days and then back to "normal" before a week. There are mainly 2 different surgeries...one the surgeon makes small inscisions and uses a tiny camera to aid him. The other is more direct but also causes more damage and longer healing periods. That's when they just go it and remove it. My ex had the first surgery performed as do most people these days. :)
